Great blog Sarah,
I’ve been waiting for this one. I think a lot of people will find this information invaluable.
Do you find you have trouble with firefox when viewing pages?
I use a mac and firefox, and I edited my about page but when I go into it, the formatting is really shabby. The text runs into the sidebar and the font looks smaller.
I checked it on a PC with Internet Explorer and it looks fine. So would it be firefox or my mac?
Mandy
Hi, Mandy,
I don’t usually experience any trouble with Firefox on a Mac (I use that setup about 50% of the time and Windows Vista/Firefox the rest of the time) but let me ask a couple of questions to narrow it down…
Do individual posts also look lousy, or just pages? Are you using the default theme or another one (if you know)? If you’re not using the default theme, temporarily switch to it and check it. If the problems go away, it’s likely an issue with the theme.
There are all kinds of differences between IE and Firefox, and a few between Macs and PCs. Some themes definitely do a better job than others of compensating for these differences, and I’d guess (if you’re not using the default theme) that it’s probably a theme where the author didn’t test it across a variety of systems/browsers.
Thanks for the help Sarah,
Its just on pages that I have edited, they looked fine before I touched them!
The Theme is BlueDark 1.0. Is there anything I can do or is it best left well alone, and just call it quirky?

Why when i create a page it post it under categories and looks like a post not like a page, it adds the stamp and allows for comments.
Thanks
Hi, fedora, you’re definitely clicking through to the “Write Page” sub-tab? Sometime the theme will also allow comments and timestamps on pages as well as posts. What theme are you using?
Hi Sarah,
I’ve really appreciated the help your videos have given me - thanks. I was happily absorbing my most recent tutorial re posts and pages this morning when the video cut and went back to the beginning when you were discussing parent pages..are you aware of this happening before? Or is it my computer? Shame to miss such good stuff…
Emma
Hi, Emma, I haven’t heard of this happening, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re the first… hopefully if anyone else has an issue, they’ll leave a comment! If there’s a trend, I’ll see if I can pinpoint the cause.
Thank you for these brilliant videos.
I can hardly believe that you’ve made these available for free. I actually know what to do and HOW to do it.
You’re doing a lot of people a lot of good. Many, many thanks.

When using the ‘edit timestamp’ feature to line up posts for future release, do you select the ‘publish’ button after setting the date or just the ’save’ button?
Thanks!
I like your blog theme. I want to use it on my blog.
Can you please tell me from where I can download these theme?
Many thanks
Hi, Dan,
This is a theme I created just for this blog so it’s not generally available… but I’m planning on changing it in a month or so. At that point I’ll probably make it available on my main blog.
But if I don’t, remind me!
Hi, Bill,
The “Publish” button is preferable. I think if you use “Save”, you have to manually change the post status.
