Hi. I’m Sarah Lewis. I have a slight blogging addiction and want to help you get one, too. 
I’m a professional blog developer, meaning I make a living helping people get started with blogs, creating custom designs for blogs, and generally being enthusiastic about blogs.
The idea for this site came to me as I’ve been participating in the Blog Mastermind course. I spend a good amount of time in the members’ forum, and many of the same questions (or the same type of questions) keep popping up.
The central problem is this: WordPress is mostly easy to use. However, there are some tasks that just don’t make sense unless you either
- have a technical background or
- have some good instruction
I can’t help you with the first point, but the goal of this site is to help with the second one.
It seems there is a real lack of basic, beginner-level step-by-step WordPress information available for free. (There are some video tutorials, I believe, but they’re not free.) The WordPress Codex is a great resource, but seems to assume a certain level of knowledge going in, and can be very confusing if you don’t have that knowledge.
What I’m attempting to do here is provide basic video instruction on the tasks you need to start and run a successful blog with the full version of WordPress. By the time I finish the videos I have planned, you’ll have the equivalent of my Speedy Start package.
You might be wondering why I’m giving this away (I would be if I were you ). What’s in it for me?
A couple of things:
- Reputation: I want people to think of me when they think of WordPress development.
- Leads: I expect some people won’t want to do the work themselves and will just hire me instead.
- Future business: the work I love best is creating custom blog designs, and I hope that when you eventually want a custom design, you’ll come to me.
- A little income: I’m using affiliate links on this site for some of the products I like, meaning that if you buy through this site, I’ll get a small commission.
- That warm, fuzzy feeling: I actually like helping people.
